Refund Policy

1. Overview

RootBrief offers subscription-based monitoring services. This Refund Policy explains how refunds are processed, what qualifies, and how to request one.

2. Refund Eligibility

  • Within 14 days of first payment: Full refund available for annual plans, no questions asked.
  • Monthly plans: Refunds are available within 7 days of charge if the service was not substantially used during the billing period.
  • Service outage: If RootBrief experiences a verified outage exceeding 24 cumulative hours in a billing period, you may request a prorated credit or refund.

3. Refund Exceptions

  • Partial months are not refunded upon cancellation (your access continues until the end of the current billing period).
  • Refunds are not available for usage-based overage charges that have already been consumed.
  • Refunds are not provided if your account was suspended due to a violation of our Terms of Service.
  • Free tier users are not eligible for refunds as no payment is collected.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at support@rootbrief.com with:

  • Your account email address
  • The billing period in question
  • Reason for the refund request

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and returned to your original payment method.

5. Cancellation vs. Refund

Cancellation stops future billing. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period. No partial refund is issued for the remaining days.

Refund returns money already charged. A refund may also result in immediate downgrade to the Free plan.

6. Proration

When upgrading plans mid-cycle, you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing period. When downgrading, the new lower rate takes effect at the next billing cycle — no retroactive refund is applied.

7. Payment Processor

All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy B.V.). Refund processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider. RootBrief does not store your credit card information.
